Network to Net Worth
How many of you get those invites to network with other professionals? Depending on your field of work, you probably receive at least 4-5 a week and maybe entertain the possibility of attending one. And how many of you take interest in attending events, seminars or even webinars where you pay a fee to listen? This number is most likely less. But isn’t there a say that goes, “You have to spend money to make money.”? True, but you have to know and believe the value of what you are spending your coins on.
On Instagram there are a lot of business pages you can follow. Cater your feed to your interests. If you are a woman, try following women owned businesses and like and comment on the content to create recognition and dialogue. Over the years there has been a spike of entrepreneurs and small businesses who advertise ways to make money and some make a very nice living by charging for their services, not a bad gig. Some people are more successful at it than others, even though they are “selling” the same ideas. Why is that? It is due to your NETWORK folks. Whether you attend a free event or a paid event, you always, ALWAYS promote yourself, it’s called the “elevator pitch”. No matter if you are at the start of your venture or the top of your venture, KEEP YOURSELF RELEVANT and another technique in networking is being RELATABLE. You want to be authentic and keep the human element in your speech and business. The last thing you want to do is to seem detached from people you want business from or even to do business with. This does not mean you need to change who you are, but more so identify your niche audience. Ask yourself the following:
What am I selling?
Is it a product?
Is it a service?
Is it just information?
Who does it benefit?
Who can I sell to?
Is the person I am able to connect to people I want as clients/customers?
It is marketable?
Can I engage people?
How can I keep their engagement?
What am I charging?
Is my price worth the information I’m providing?
What makes me different from the next person?
Why would should someone buy from me and not another?
The network(s) you develop can be one of the reasons why you strive.
